What we do

Swoon specialise in sample and once worn designer gowns at realistic prices.

We have an extensive range of dresses from designers such as Suzanne Neville, Ritva Westenius, Pronovias, Maggie Sottero and many more.

Swoon dresses are new, sample or once worn but quality is never compromised.  Most gowns are usually at least half the standard retail price and there are hundreds of wonderful dresses to choose from.

All dresses are ready to be taken away on the day.

Swoon offer personal appointments where brides can discuss their requirements and try on their favourite designs in comfortable surroundings, with no high pressure sales pitch.

For brides who don't want to spend thousands of pounds on a dress, but do want to look a million dollars, then Swoon has got to be worth a visit.

Swoon offer designer dresses without designer prices.

Ethical action

Swoon wedding gowns are an ethical option for green brides as each Swoon gown is either once worn or has been a sample.

This doesn't mean that quality is compromised though as our dresses are carefully selected for our studio.

By purchasing a Swoon gown you are re-using an exquisite product that otherwise would not be used again.

The benefits of buying such a gown are two fold as the dress gets to be worn again and the bride gets to wear an exquisite designer gown at a fraction of its original cost.

See below for more details on how we minimise the environmental impacts of our business.

A few ways we're trying to make a difference

Our dresses are normally collected in person but when we do send them out we always use packaging that has been used before. This includes the zip up garment protectors as well as the outer packaging.

We do not add any other unnecessary packing such as tissue paper/carrier bags. Any packaging we receive that we cannot re-use we recycle wherever this is possible.

We also remove beading on some old dresses so that we can re-use beads to repair other more expensive dresses that need to be fully beaded before we can sell them.

Reducing carbon footprint

Reducing carbon footprint

We try to avoid dry cleaning if possible - most dresses can be machine washed in large machines which we mostly do ourselves and use environmentally friendly washing products.

The dresses are ALWAYS line dried, we do not have a tumble drier!

Only the silk dresses are specialised dry cleaned and as yet we have not found a satisfactory alternative way to clean these dresses.

Supporting / working with a charity

Support a charity

Any dresses that don't sell after a couple of seasons are donated to our local charity shops. In the same way, we often get brides who give us veils, shoes and tiaras which we donate to charity shops as our business is primarily in wedding dresses.
