What we do
Fruto del Espiritu imports mango, guava, pineapple and more exotic fruits direct from Latin America as fruit purées.
- Lulo tastes like gooseberry with a floral aroma and notes of seville orange on the finish.
- Mora is a dark red Andean blackberry with the richness of rhubarb and the tartness of cranberry.
- Maracuyá is an intense passionfruit.
Mora and Lulo offer a novel alternative to red and white wine. The purées make incredible cocktails (alcoholic and non-alcoholic), as served in some of London's top cocktail bars.
Entertainment
Fruto del Espiritu can arrange for a professional mixologist to handcraft exquisite cocktails for your guests.
Transform drinks service into an intriguing art form: a delight for the eye as well as the palate!
Ethical action
Latin America has tremendous bio-diversity, and yet the rainforest is being torn down to grow cash crops which are in high demand in the UK.
Fruits such as Lulo, Mora and Maracuyá are grown by farmer co-operatives and our work at Fruto del Espiritu, a non-dividend company, is to open the market for these farmers in the UK by promoting the exotic flavours of Latin America.
Our purées preserve the fullest natural flavour of the fruits, while bottling allows the products to be shipped, minimising carbon emissions.
Profits are being invested in a new product, processed by women rebuilding their lives after being displaced by violence.
5% of all fruit sales to Ethical Weddings Customers contribute to the school fees of the fruit factory workers' children.
Awards & Recommendations
Fruto del Espíritu's Recreational Fruit Culture Initiative has been endorsed by the Colombian Ambassador.
A few ways we're trying to make a difference
Recycling
The bottles and cardboard cases are recyclable.
Reducing carbon footprint
All our fruit is shipped, not air-freighted.
Supporting local producers
Offering a market, via the processing factory, to co-operatives of Andean farmers. Promoting their little-known exquisite fruits for the British palate.
Supporting fair trade
As there was no fair-trade supply chain available on setting up the company, Fruto del Espiritu is non-dividend with all profits committed to reinvestment in new products and paying school fees of the factory workers’ children.
Supporting / working with a charity
Fruto del Espíritu sets aside a percentage of all fruit purchased by young cooperatives or young enterprise to finance nutritious meals for children under the care of a charity in Latin America.
Supporting / working with a community / social project
Fruto del Espiritu works with schools, youth clubs and rehabilitation projects in the UK.
Vegetarian / vegan
Our products, being fruit, are suitable for vegetarians and vegans.
