The Great Big Green Wedding Fayre

5-6 September 2009

The Great Big Green Wedding Fayre is brought to you by Jemma Herbert and Amanda Barr of eco conscious stationery company, GreenLeaf Press.

The fair takes place at the Crosby Hall Educational Centre in picturesque Little Crosby and will make full use of the centre’s impressive grounds, hall and outbuildings for the weekend.

Jemma explains, “We want to create, in effect, a sample wedding celebration to showcase the very best green wedding suppliers in a creative, multi sensory way.”

Visitors will be encouraged to say ‘I Do Green’ and choose from a stunning selection of alternative eco bridal wear, vintage accessories, fairly traded jewellery, seasonal blooms, locally sourced and organic food and drink, natural beauty products, eco conscious stationery, green gift lists and eco honeymoons.

Highlights include live musicians, tables laid with vintage china where guests will be seated for complimentary tea and cakes, several workshops on key green topics and finally an elegant eco bridal fashion show.

  • When: 5-6 September 2009
  • Where: Crosby Hall Educational Centre in Little Crosby, near Liverpool

Ethical wedding group in Brighton - May 2009

May 2009

We would love to invite you to the third meeting of tawc (the authentic wedding connection).

We all know about the traditional ‘perfect wedding' - the big white dress, the groom in his top hat and tails, the sun shining, everyone smiling, all the frills, no expense spared...

But what if it's not quite working out that way, or if that's not actually what you want? In fact, since getting engaged, have you even had chance to think about what you want, why you are getting married and what it means to you?

Wedding planning can be a chaotic but lonely business - we have our bridesmaids, our best men and our ushers and everyone is giving us their opinions, but rarely are they getting married around the same time as you to know just what you're going through: the expectations, the worries, the excitement and anticipation.

tawc is a chance to sit down with people who are in the same position as you, or who've been there already, an opportunity to swap ideas and advice, both practical and emotional, to clear your head, scream with frustration or squeal with excitement!

It will also be an opportunity to chat about the idea of an ethical or green wedding and whether this is something that might work for you and if so, how to go about it.

  • When: May 2009 (DATE & TIME TBC)
  • Where: Brighton (VENUE TBC)
  • How much? FREE!
  • Contact: Katie - katie@ethicalweddings.com

If you are interested in coming along join our tawc group online.  We would love to meet you!
